Job description

Shape the future of one of Austria's largest NPOs! At Caritas, people are at the center. Not only those we support, but above all our dedicated teams. We offer you the rare opportunity to combine economic efficiency with social added value. Doing good and advancing your career professionally? That's possible with us!
As our purchasing team grows, we are looking for a strategically thinking personality with technical know-how and negotiation skills for our headquarters.

In this key position, you are not just an orderer, but a strategic designer. You will combine technology, IT, and organization into comprehensive economic solutions.

  • Strategic Analysis: You will monitor markets and services with a focus on Facility Management and IT infrastructure.
  • Interface Management: You will be a sparring partner for our specialist departments and proactively determine the optimal needs.
  • Negotiation Management: From preparation to closing – you will negotiate framework agreements and prices on an equal footing.
  • Process Optimization: You will actively contribute to the further development of our purchasing processes and ensure transparency through sound analyses.
  • Sustainability: You will ensure that our procurement is not only economically but also ecologically and socially sustainable.

Your Profile

  • Foundation: Completed commercial apprenticeship combined with a technical background (e.g., HTL degree).
  • Experience: Several years of professional experience in (technical) purchasing, ideally with a focus on services or facility management. Knowledge of the Federal Procurement Act (BVergG) is a MUST!
  • Skills: You can confidently juggle numbers (MS Office) and have a deep understanding of complex technical contexts.
  • Personality: You are a communication talent, work independently, and keep a cool head even during intense negotiation phases.

As soon as possible, full-time (37 working hours)

More than just a job

  • Work-Life Balance: A 37-hour week and significantly more free time (2 additional vacation days after the 1st year, as well as days off like Good Friday, Dec 24th, and Dec 31st extra).
  • Mobility: An annual subsidy for the Klimaticket/Öffi-Ticket of up to €506.40.
  • Security & Development: A stable environment in a values-oriented organization with individual further training opportunities.
  • Benefits: Tax-privileged food vouchers, special child vouchers, and numerous discounts (hotels, pharmacies, etc.).
  • Classification according to Collective Agreement: This position is classified in the Caritas Collective Agreement in Usage Group III. The minimum salary according to the collective agreement (in level 2, without prior service) is EUR 3,384.20 gross/month on a full-time basis (37 working hours).
  • The Salary Range (Actual Remuneration): Because fair and market-compliant remuneration is important to us, the actual salary range for this position is between EUR 3,384.20 and EUR 4,041.86 gross/month. You have the choice between a full-time model with 37 or 38 working hours (the maximum value refers to 38 hours).
  • How Your Salary is Calculated: Where exactly you fall within this range depends transparently on the relevance of your prior service and your specific qualifications, which we reflect through an overpayment or functional allowance.
  • Salary Finalization Process: The final classification and the exact calculation of your applicable years will be done together in the last step of the application process.

We particularly welcome applications that contribute to the diversity of our organization. For us, this includes the dimensions of disabilities, origin, ethnic background, nationality, age, religion and worldview, sexual orientation, and gender identity. Employees with disabilities are accompanied and supported by our disability representatives and Ability Management.
