Job description
About Us
We see the semiconductor industry as a universe of possibilities. We see opportunities. We see the profound impact our graphene solutions will have on transforming the industry. We invite you to join us in driving change by bringing together bright minds with a common vision. The vision is: Prove to everyone that you can fundamentally change something. Prove with your knowledge and skills how things can be done differently. Together, we can change the paradigm of how the world is connected.
Our Technology
The semiconductor industry's growing demand for higher-performance chips with higher bandwidth and lower power consumption finds its solution in our technology. We connect chips to high-throughput, low-latency computer networks. The key lies in harnessing the physical properties of graphene to connect electronic data processing with photonic communication, allowing countless chips to interact as if they were one. Our graphene photonics innovation enhances computing power and efficiency on a new scale.
In short, we connect chips into high-performance and energy-efficient networks, overcoming the limitations of connectivity in the semiconductor industry through graphene.
Your Role
In this position, you will be responsible for the strategic procurement and supplier management of materials essential for semiconductor manufacturing. You will ensure supply security, optimize total costs over the entire procurement lifecycle, and guarantee compliance with quality requirements. You will consider both the constantly evolving technological requirements and the changing market conditions.
Your Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement global procurement strategies for semiconductor materials such as wafers, photoresists, CMP slurries, specialty gases, or chemicals.
You will identify, qualify, and strategically manage key suppliers, ensuring they are optimally aligned with our technology roadmaps, quality standards, and production requirements.
When negotiating contracts, prices, and other terms, you will always keep our cost targets in mind while ensuring a reliable supply.
Furthermore, you will continuously monitor the semiconductor materials markets, supplier performance, price trends, and supply chain risks to identify opportunities early and develop targeted risk mitigation measures.
In close collaboration with the R&D, Process Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams, you will optimally align material procurement with technological specifications and production requirements.
You will actively support the introduction of new products by procuring materials that meet the new process requirements and scaling goals.
You will manage performance, maintain supplier relationships, and handle reporting in relation to our corporate objectives.
What You Bring
A successfully completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Materials Science, Physics, Business Administration (or a comparable degree program)
At least 5 years of professional experience in purchasing, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the semiconductor industry, electronics industry, or high-tech manufacturing
In-depth knowledge and success in contract negotiations, supplier management, and cost optimization
A strong understanding of semiconductor materials and processes, e.g., wafers, specialty gases, chemicals, photoresists, lithography, etching, and metallization materials
Initial practical experience with ERP or purchasing systems and data analysis tools
Analytical thinking, strong communication skills, and a good sense for dealing with various stakeholders
Fluent English (German language skills are a plus)
Willingness to work in our Aachen office at least once a week
Our Culture
