Strategic Purchasing Manager Steel Construction (m/f/d)

Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of commodity group strategies in the steel sector (sheets, profiles, forged parts, castings)
- Analysis of national and international procurement markets
- Selection, qualification, and development of suppliers
- Independent negotiation of framework agreements, price, and condition agreements
- Conducting cost analyses and implementing savings potentials
- Close cooperation with design, production, and quality assurance
- Risk management in the supply chain (availability, price volatility, geopolitical risks)
- Support with make-or-buy decisions
- Clarification of escalations within the supply chain
Qualifications
- Successfully completed studies in industrial engineering, business administration, mechanical engineering, or a comparable field
- Several years of professional experience in strategic purchasing, ideally in industry or a related sector.
- Curiosity and passion for technology and economic contexts
- Confident demeanor and assertiveness, especially in negotiations
- Experience in dealing with international suppliers
- Proficient in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and MS Office
- Analytical, structured, and independent working method
- Fluent German and English language skills
- High willingness to travel
