Strategic Purchaser / Senior Buyer - Structural Steel Construction (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

• Development and implementation of commodity group strategies in the steel sector (sheets, profiles, forgings, castings)
• Analysis of national and international procurement markets
• Selection, qualification, and development of suppliers
• Independent negotiation of framework agreements, price, and condition agreements
• Conducting cost analyses and implementing savings potentials
• Close cooperation with design, production, and quality assurance
• Risk management in the supply chain (availability, price volatility, geopolitical risks)
• Support with make-or-buy decisions
• Resolution of escalations within the supply chain

Qualifications

• Successfully completed degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or comparable field
• Several years of professional experience in strategic purchasing, ideally in the industrial sector or a related field.
• Curiosity and passion for technology and economic contexts
• Confident demeanor and assertiveness, especially in negotiations
• Experience in dealing with international suppliers
• Proficient in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and MS Office
• Analytical, structured, and independent way of working
• Negotiation-level German and English skills
• High willingness to travel
