Tasks

• Development and implementation of category strategies in the field of steel (sheets, profiles, forged parts, castings)
• Analysis of national and international procurement markets
• Selection, qualification, and development of suppliers
• Independent negotiation of framework agreements, price, and condition agreements
• Execution of cost analyses and implementation of savings potentials
• Close collaboration with design, production, and quality assurance
• Risk management in the supply chain (availability, price volatility, geopolitical risks)
• Support for make-or-buy decisions
• Resolution of escalations within the supply chain

Qualification

• Successfully completed studies in industrial engineering, business administration, mechanical engineering, or comparable
• Several years of professional experience in strategic purchasing, ideally in the industrial sector or a related industry.
• Curiosity and passion for technology and economic contexts
• Confident demeanor and assertiveness, especially in negotiations
• Experience in dealing with international suppliers
• Proficient use of ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and MS Office
• Analytical, structured, and independent way of working
• Negotiation-level German and English skills
• High willingness to travel
