About the function

As a Strategic Procurement and Contract Manager Large Projects, you are responsible for the procurement of large projects (100 million+), such as the Southern Development or Reconstruction C-pier, with clear tender guidelines in a dynamic environment where your innovative ideas and unconventional approach are valuable. How you will achieve this exactly? That is up to you. We trust in the way you clearly set your goals and achieve them on time according to a good plan. You will use your talents in:

• achieving the best market approach for a tender and contract by showing leadership in steering tender and contract choices.
• realizing unifying leadership to involve and keep all relevant stakeholders engaged in these complex projects.
• ensuring that we receive the best bids and all tender risks are well managed, as you have maximally stimulated, enticed, and supported both our tender team and the tender teams of participants with your knowledge and skills.
• further developing our method of market interaction in tenders, aligned with our vision of partnership and collaboration.
• managing buyers and contract managers who work on Large Projects.

As a senior tender manager, you master the usual methods from the side and look at tender processes with a fresh, progressive perspective. With your market knowledge, you bind the best contractors and suppliers to Schiphol, and with your knowledge of tender laws and regulations, you always find room for new opportunities and possibilities. The large projects team within Procurement & Contracting is responsible for large projects such as: the replacement of the C-Pier, a baggage basement for the Southern Development, and a new metro line to and from Schiphol.

• a completed HBO or WO (university of applied sciences or university) degree, supplemented with at least ten years of relevant work experience in construction and/or infrastructure.
• experience with physical and critical assets.
• experience with competitive dialogue and relational contracting.
• experience with European tendering.
• good command of the Dutch language (minimum level C1).

About the Team

Procurement & Contracting

Schiphol's Procurement & Contract Management (P&C) department works closely with internal clients to optimize demand, specifications, price, and costs. The department consists of six category teams and an Excellence Center. P&C focuses on the professionalization of procurement and contract management, with a strong focus on sustainability and innovation. Through collaboration with suppliers, P&C aims to contribute to accelerating sustainable developments and improving the quality of services at the airport.
