Ensure that information leads to better decisions & a safer Royal Netherlands Marechaussee

The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee is ready 24 hours a day for the safety of the Netherlands. To perform that task well, reliable information is indispensable. Not only to gain insight into what has happened, but precisely to identify risks in a timely manner, interpret developments, and continuously improve the organization.

Within the Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) cluster, we are building the Analysis, Learning & Improvement section. As a Strategic SHE Analyst, you play a key role in this. You investigate what information the organization needs, translate complex analyses into strategic insights, and ensure that these lead to better decisions and a safer working Royal Netherlands Marechaussee.

What will you do?

As a Strategic SHE Analyst, you are responsible for strategic analyses that contribute to operational, tactical, and strategic decision-making within the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. You translate information into insights, advice, and concrete improvement measures, thereby making an important contribution to the further development of the SHE domain.

You don't start with the information that is incidentally available, but with the question of what information is needed to make a good decision. Together with clients, you map out the information needs, draw up plans, and determine which analysis methodologies and information sources are needed. You look not only at what is currently happening, but also at which developments and potential risks may arise.

Then you gather information from various sources, establish connections, and translate your analyses into clear advice, concrete improvement measures, or lessons identified. You also investigate whether implemented measures actually have the desired effect. Consider, for example, analyzing trends in safety reports, audit findings, risk inventories and evaluations, and other relevant information sources. By combining these insights, you make visible where risks arise, which measures work, and where additional actions are needed.

In complex investigations, you will not act as the investigation leader yourself. However, you will collaborate with the coordinator of Investigation Committees on the plan, quality, and results of the investigation. From your analytical role, you help to place investigation findings in the correct context and translate them into relevant insights for the organization.

Furthermore, you contribute to the development of analysis methods, information products, and the Lessons Learned process, so that insights do not remain isolated but are sustainably embedded within the organization. You will work closely with colleagues within SHE, the Intelligence organization, other defense components, and external chain partners.

• experience with translating data and information into strategic insights and decision-making;
• experience with analyzing complex issues and evaluating the effectiveness of measures;
