Where (kilo)meters of encyclopedias, 500 licenses on databases and a multi-year budget cycle come together. That is the KB in The Hague. And it's the place where you as a strategic advisor business operations contribute to the further development of the KB. Together with the portfolio manager for business operations, the general director, and your involved colleagues from business operations but also from other parts of the organization - help the KB tackle complex issues and contribute to the set goals.

Can you make it happen?
As a strategic advisor at the KB, you have a unique opportunity to be involved with all aspects of our organization. The KB is a complex organization, but with your clear vision and constructive approach, you can bring about changes. You stand firmly in your shoes as a conversation partner for the management team and your colleagues from business operations. The management team consists of six people: the general director and five portfolio holders.

It's up to you to build on the further development of our organization, with a focus on strategic goals around organization & development and specifically within the portfolio business operations. This includes achieving our sustainability goals and promoting diversity and inclusion. And there's more. You are the strategic advisor who:
As a facilitator thinks about the exact filling of this function by jointly determining the most urgent topics
Sets up the structure for the necessary strategy sessions and coordinates them accordingly
In collaboration with the strategic advisors from other portfolios, thinks about other strategic issues and maintains coherence.
Coordinates the content-related explanation of the block report, annual report, and policy component of the budget.
From the goals of organization & development but together with the other strategic advisors takes the first steps towards a new KB policy plan 2027-2030. This includes further developing the Theory of Change (ToC) and the Objectives, Goals, Strategies, and Measures (OGSM) model.
Keeps track of the broad developments relevant to this portfolio and connects them where necessary to organization development. You can use a relevant network where you can represent the KB if needed.

Furthermore, you advise on long-term organizational policy and the financial impact of larger files on this.

Requirements

We are curious about who you are and what makes you special. Is that your overview within a complex, changing organization combined with a self-starter mentality? Great. Especially if you add this to the vacancy strategic advisor organization & development with:
wo-work- and -think level and relevant education.
At least 5 years of work experience in the field of strategic developments or in a comparable function in a medium-sized organization.
Experience in guiding change trajectories.
Preferably experience with government finances and the public sector (this is a plus).
The drive to improve the business operations of the KB and achieve joint goals.
A connecting and organization-sensitive attitude.

The indicative hourly rate range lies between 110-115 euros per hour.
Note: This is not a minimum or maximum rate. All bids will be evaluated based on a points system that weighs price and quality.
