Strategic Policy Lead, Space Governance & International Affairs

The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) is seeking a dynamic Manager (Strategy & Policy) to lead Singapore's space policy development and engage internationally. This role involves spearheading initiatives for the National Space Strategy 1.0 and the formulation of national space legislation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in policy development, excellent communication skills, and strong capabilities in strategic thinking that balance innovation and governance. You will represent the MTI at international forums and conferences to promote Singapore's interests and engage with key stakeholders. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, discretion, and diplomacy. Key responsibilities include: • Developing and implementing strategies for space policy development and engagement; • Formulating national space legislation and regulations; • Coordinating with various government agencies, international organizations, and the private sector to advance Singapore's interests in space governance; • Providing strategic advice to senior management on space-related matters; • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including governments, industry leaders, and academia; • Representing the MTI at international forums and conferences to promote Singapore's interests and engage with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate should possess: • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., public policy, international relations, law); • At least 5 years of experience in policy development, preferably in the space or technology sector; • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
