About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga The Group that does [insert group name here] is responsible for [insert responsibility here]. This role will be part of that group. Key responsibilities: • Provide strategic advice and guidance to the Education Team on matters related to Māori education, culture and language. • Work closely with the Education Team to develop and implement initiatives that improve outcomes for Māori students. • Build relationships with key stakeholders including iwi, hapū, whānau and community groups to ensure that our work is informed by Māori perspectives and values. • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with other organisations and agencies to leverage resources and expertise. • Provide leadership and guidance to the Education Team on matters related to Māori education, culture and language. • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to develop and implement initiatives that improve outcomes for Māori students. What you'll need | Ōrite ki tēnei: • A strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for education in New Zealand. • Experience working with Māori communities, iwi, hapū or whānau. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions. • A strong commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and its application in education.
