Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced STMS to become part of their growing Traffic Management team. This role offers a balance of leadership and hands-on work, where you'll be responsible for overseeing temporary traffic management operations, maintaining site safety, and ensuring traffic control measures are implemented effectively across active worksites.

Working closely with field crews, contractors, and members of the public, you'll play a key role in coordinating traffic management activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting the safe delivery of projects.

What you'll be doing:

  • Install, monitor, and dismantle temporary traffic management systems on live worksites.
  • Prepare, review, and amend Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Operate traffic control measures including stop/go, signage, and traffic signal systems.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Maintain accurate daily records, site documentation, and reporting.
  • Liaise professionally with site personnel, supervisors, clients, and the public regarding traffic management activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Current STMS Cat A & B Practising qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years experience within the traffic management or roading industry.
  • Full Class 2 Driver Licence.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, reliable attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
