Steel Fixer - Decking

We're currently looking for Steel Fixers to assist with an upcoming decking project based in Tauranga. You can either travel to site with the team from East Auckland, so a flexible attitude toward travel and working away from home is essential. We are also open to applicants who live in Tauranga.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a well-organised crew and gain experience working on a significant regional build.

What we're looking for:

• Practical experience with steel fixing, tying, and installing metal decking
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings
• Comfortable working at heights
• Valid Site Safe and Working at Heights certification (non negotiable)
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and Ministry of Justice background check
• Team player who communicates well and contributes to a safe, productive site
• Confident using tools such as grinders, bolt cutters, wire cutters, and petrol cut-off saws

Key tasks will include:

• Tensioning tie bars and securing metal forms
• Performing quality checks to meet build standards
• Coordinating material deliveries and communicating with other trades
• Supporting site flow and safety procedures
• Completing site paperwork and following supervisor direction
