About the organization The municipality of Voorne aan Zee is a thriving and growing municipality on Voorne-Putten, where over 74,000 residents live, businesses operate in a healthy climate, and thousands of tourists enjoy the beaches every year. Because the residents' quality of life takes precedence, the municipality works intensively with residents, regional partners, and social institutions. The municipal organization consists of eight departments, which all work from five core values: personal responsibility, transparency, cooperation, innovation, and social responsibility. As an urban planner, you will be part of the spatial planning department, which is responsible for the development and implementation of the municipality's spatial policy. Your main tasks will be to: • Conduct research and analysis on the municipality's spatial development and the impact of this development on the environment, the economy, and the residents; • Develop and implement spatial plans and policies that take into account the municipality's vision, goals, and priorities; • Collaborate with other departments, stakeholders, and residents to develop and implement spatial plans and policies that are in line with the municipality's vision and goals; • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of spatial plans and policies and make adjustments as needed; • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and other organizations; • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of urban planning and apply this knowledge in your work. Requirements: • Master's degree in urban planning, architecture, or a related field; • At least 3 years of experience in urban planning, preferably in a municipal setting; • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; • Strong knowledge of the Dutch language and culture; • Familiarity with the municipality's vision, goals, and priorities.
