As a Software Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for: 

• Actively participating in the design and implementation of robust and scalable technical solutions.
• Software Architecture: Contributing to the thinking about our application architecture, ensuring performance and code maintainability
• Deployment and Operations (DevOps):  Automating tests and cloud deployments with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform), packaging applications in containers (e.g., Docker), implementing data observability tools (e.g., DBT)
• Deploying your software to the cloud:  GCP, AWS, or Azure 
• Deploying one or more of the following technical expertise areas: software development, analytics engineering, ML engineering, cloud architecture, or site reliability and security engineering
• Technology watch: Exploring new technologies and tools to optimize our working methods.

Profile sought

• Education: You are a student in the final year of an engineering cycle, Master's degree, or equivalent, with a specialization in software engineering, computer science, or web development, and you are looking for your end-of-studies internship starting from January 2027.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript (Node.js), Go, or Scala.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming and/or functional programming principles.
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) and containers (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Knowledge of versioning tools, particularly Git.
• Personal Qualities:
• Curiosity and proactivity: You are eager to learn and propose new ideas.
• Rigor and attention to detail: You are committed to producing clean and quality code.
• Team spirit: You are capable of working collaboratively and communicating with diverse profiles (Data Scientists, Consultants, etc.)
• Fluent French for teamwork and mandatory professional English for our international clients 

The recruitment process: to join Artefact, we offer a four-step recruitment process during which you will have the opportunity to discuss your experience and learn more about Artefact and the software engineer position.

• HR Interview
• Interview #1 – Coding Test with a Senior Software Engineer 
• Interview #2 - Architecture and Pipeline Test with a Senior Software Engineer 
• Interview #3 - Motivation Interview with a Manager or Director of the Data Engineering department 

Onboarding Process: 

The onboarding includes training on critical transversal skills such as time management, oral and written communication. A counselor will also be assigned to you to guide you in familiarizing yourself with the company's culture and working methods. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work on internal projects to gain practical experience and hone your skills. Furthermore, you will have the possibility to obtain cloud provider certifications before working on client assignments. This onboarding process is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to become a high-performing software engineer at Artefact.
