Operations & Events Intern | Amsterdam Light Festival | Amsterdam mbo/hbo/wo

What will you do?

As an Operations & Events Intern, you will help ensure our daily cruises run smoothly. You will support the Operations team at the office and on the quay, with a focus on the Amsterdam Light Festival. This is one of the busiest periods of the year. For example, you will assist with planning, coordinate departing boats, and guide guests during boarding. Together with your colleagues, you will ensure everything runs well and guests have a great experience. Your internship will be varied, with a combination of organizing and hands-on work.

What will you learn?

• Assisting with the preparation and execution of the Amsterdam Light Festival;

• Supporting with planning, schedules, and administration;

• Welcoming guests, guiding boarding, and coordinating queues on the quay;

• Maintaining contact with planners, duty managers, hosts, skippers, and port partners;

• Keeping checklists and registrations up-to-date and processing operational data;

• Contributing to projects and improvements within Operations.

Practical

• Start date: as soon as possible;

• Duration: 3 to 6 months;

• Internship type: work placement internship;

• Working hours: A combination of office hours and operational shifts. Availability in evenings and weekends is required;

• Internship allowance: € 500 per month;

• Location: office in the heart of Amsterdam and the quay.

Job requirements

• An mbo, hbo, or wo education in operations, events, hospitality, tourism, or business administration;

• A reliable, practical, and guest-oriented attitude;

• The ability to remain calm during busy periods and a flexible approach to changing tasks;

• Good command of English, knowledge of Dutch is a plus;

• Available during the Amsterdam Light Festival (ALF), including evenings and weekends;

• Knowledge of Excel is a plus.
