Internship - SQA Engineer Python, Physical Test Bench - M/F

Integrated into the SQA team, you will take charge of a physical test bench already in production: every night it validates the installation, update, and configuration of about twenty Withings product models (scales, watches, blood pressure monitors…), controlled via UART and relays, integrated into our Jenkins CI. The purpose of this internship is to conceive, design, and produce an improved version that automates physical interactions — taking a measurement, stepping on a scale, wearing a watch, pressing a button, checking what the device's screen displays — in order to convert manually executed test cases into automatic tests (Python).

In strong interaction with Firmware QA, your main responsibilities will include:

- Automating measurable tests: injecting measurements into dblib on the firmware side, real synchronization, verification in the app.

- Exploring device emulation: studying and prototyping the complete simulation of a product on Raspberry Pi (BLE/Wi-Fi behavior, installation cycle, measurement generation)

- Extending the coverage of the existing bench: new product models, new scenarios (installation, firmware, synchronization)

- Designing, modeling, and building test jigs: 3D printing of supports and actuators, control of relays and serial instrumentation, reading device status (screen, LEDs).

- Developing and maintaining Python automation scripts (Appium, pytest) that orchestrate mobile apps (iOS and Android), backend, and physical instrumentation.

- Integrating each new scenario into Jenkins CI to run it every night, and measuring the reduction in manual test volume it enables.

- Working with today's tools: the team develops with a code agent harness (Claude Code…) — test generation pipeline, assisted reviews; you will use it and contribute to its improvement.

- Analyzing results, reporting bugs, and documenting hardware and software components; participating in code reviews.

Requirements

• You are a student in the final year of a Bac+5 program (engineering school or university) and are looking for a end-of-studies internship;
• Excellent command of Python is essential, particularly for automation and hardware interfacing (e.g., pyserial);
• Knowledge in mechanical design and/or 3D printing (e.g., FreeCAD, Fusion 360, Cura) would be a major asset — the jig is as much mechanical as it is software;
• Basics in electronics (simple schematics, sensors, relays, UART) would be a plus;
• Curiosity for code agents (Claude Code, Codex…) is a plus;
• You are comfortable with MacOS and Linux environments;
• You are passionate about innovative high-tech products, IoT, and the challenges of software and hardware quality;
• You are curious, rigorous, autonomous, proactive, and have a good ability to adapt to progress in a constantly evolving environment;
• You are comfortable communicating your ideas and working in a team;
• You have a mastery of technical English (reading and writing code and documentation).
