Context
Several internal search engines run on our catalogs, which are voluminous and have a high update frequency. One of them currently returns too much noise and poorly ranks its results.
How to improve the relevance and readability of results while being as fast as real-time usage requires?

Internship Objectives
  • Redesign the engine fundamentally and structurally: improve the algorithm to eliminate irrelevant results, add dynamic filters, rework the ergonomics and information hierarchy
  • Enrich the input with suggestions based on current consultation trends and a history of recent searches, using a local LRU cache
    • Performance will determine if the functionality is viable.

    Backend: Node.js, Redis

    Internship Terms
  • End-of-studies internship (Master 2) available full-time only in Paris, France
  • Opportunity for a permanent contract (CDI) at the end of the internship
