The Internship Assignment

During this HBO internship, you will work with Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO). LOTO is a safety method by which machines and energy sources are safely shut down and locked out during maintenance or work. This prevents a machine from being unexpectedly switched on while work is being performed on it. You will help Nedlin to further develop, standardize, and make this working method practically applicable.

• You will investigate the current LOTO working method and map out risks, energy sources, and isolation points.

• You will develop a uniform LOTO procedure and machine-specific LOTO cards.

• You will map out the necessary materials and tools.

• You will develop instruction and toolbox materials for employees.

• You will draw up practical implementation advice to further embed LOTO within Nedlin.

• Internship allowance:

  • € 300,- gross per month for MBO students (based on 40 hours per week);

  • € 400,- gross per month for HBO students (based on 40 hours per week);

Safety during your internship

Safety is also paramount during the execution of the internship assignment. Therefore, you will not perform any risky maintenance work independently. Any technical adjustments will be exclusively carried out by authorized employees or external parties. Machine cards will be validated by the Technical Department before being put into use.

Who are you?

• You are following an HBO program, for example, Integral Safety Studies, Technical Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or Facility Management.

• You have an interest in technology and safety and enjoy combining theory with practice.

• You work independently, accurately, and proactively and communicate easily with colleagues.

• You are available 32 to 40 hours per week for a hands-on and/or graduation internship.

• You can travel independently to our location in Elsloo or Hoensbroek.
