Job description

The internship will take place within the Awareness-Communication department of Handicap International, at the Lyon headquarters, from April 1st to September 30th, 2027. It will contribute to the preparation and running of the "Pyramides de chaussures" (Shoes Pyramids) 2027, as well as the organization of other events for the association. The "Pyramides de chaussures" is the key event for awareness-raising and citizen mobilization for Handicap International. For over 30 years, all citizens, students, employees of companies, supporters of Handicap International, and even politicians are invited to:

- Throw their shoes to bear witness to their support for the causes championed by Handicap International, with the shoe symbolizing the weight of citizen engagement to protect civilians;

- Get informed through an interactive, fun, and educational exhibition about Handicap International, its fields of intervention, and its battles;

- Meet and interact with our field experts.

The internship involves event coordination, relations with partners and service providers, recruitment and management of volunteers, preparation of materials and resources, and participation in events.

In addition, we invite you to familiarize yourself with the awareness-raising and mobilization actions by consulting: the Volunteering and Awareness Space for Handicap International.

The mission will take place from April 1st to September 30th, 2027 (6 months).

Your missions are as follows:

Activity 1: You will support the organization and coordination of the "Pyramides de chaussures" in Villeurbanne and Paris with:

- Participation in the design and operational logistics of the "Pyramides" (scenography, equipment, on-site presence, setup/dismantling).

- Support for the recruitment, management, and follow-up of volunteers, as well as their training and retention.

- Coordination of the School Day and organization of guided tours for all audiences.

- Researching service providers.

- Contribution to evaluations: collecting feedback from teams and partners, documenting results, and proposing improvements for future editions.

Activity 2: You will participate in the organization of other Handicap International events:

- Notaries' Congress: contributing to the definition and adaptation of key messages, the design of the stand and the awareness pathway, the preparation of materials, equipment, and an animation kit, as well as its organization.

- 2028 New Year's Greetings: participating in the search and selection of an unusual venue suitable for the event, imagining animation proposals, and contributing to the identification, consultation, and follow-up of service providers.

- More broadly, providing support for the coordination, logistics, and follow-up of cross-functional events for the National Association France.

Activity 3: Participating in the daily life of the Awareness-Communication department:

- Contributing to the management of email inboxes and follow-up of requests, tracking solidarity actions, and preparing new mobilization actions or events.

- Contributing to the management and deployment of Damien Seguin's challenge for inclusion and international solidarity, with a focus on the school component: mobilizing and supporting educational institutions, disseminating educational tools, supporting the organization of awareness-raising actions and solidarity challenges, monitoring participating institutions, and showcasing their initiatives.

WORKPLACE ACCESSIBILITY: The position is located in an Open Space, with private boxes available for more quiet work if needed, and the workspace is very bright. The position is easily accessible by public transport (bus, metro). Parking is also available. Regarding the building, elevators and access ramps are in place.
