OBJECTIVES OF THE INTERNSHIP:

The Humanitarian Institute of Handicap International's role is to:

Ø Provide internal analysis, advice, and support regarding HI's ethical and positioning issues;

Ø Contribute to HI's influence and outreach on international solidarity issues.

Within the Institute, you will work within a team of 3 people, including the Director of the Institute and three ethics and positioning analysts, each responsible for operational partnerships, private sector partnerships, and institutional funding respectively.

The internship is linked to the work identified and planned for the year 2026 within the Institute.

The main mission of the internship is to support the Institute's team on its research and analysis projects related to geopolitical current events, as well as the ethics of private and institutional funding.

In this context, your tasks will be as follows:

Activity 1: You will contribute to research and analysis work (particularly geopolitical) on fundamental issues for the Institute in terms of ethics and participate in their valorization (research notes, positioning documents). The subjects relate to the application and interpretation of the organization's values at the operational level and may be linked to institutional funding and other operational ethics issues. Example: acceptance or non-acceptance of private funding given human rights violations committed by a company.

Activity 2: You will contribute to research and analysis work (particularly geopolitical) on fundamental issues for the Institute in terms of ethics and participate in their valorization (research notes, positioning documents). The subjects relate to the application and interpretation of the organization's values at the operational level and may be linked to institutional funding and other operational ethics issues. Example: application of humanitarian principles during HI interventions in a given context.

Activity 3: You will conduct geopolitical monitoring on respect for international law, focusing on certain countries where HI operates, and contribute to research and analysis work related to these countries and other related themes (obligations of parties to the conflict under international law, obligations of States regarding the use of weapons according to the treaties they have signed...).

Activity 4: You will provide support in the design of internal training on ethics and positioning at HI (application of humanitarian principles, applied ethics, humanitarian access, etc.)

Requirements

REQUIRED PROFILE:

· You have a Bac+4 degree in Political Science, International Relations, Humanitarian Action, etc.

· You have solid skills in documentary research and analysis (cross-referencing sources, contextualizing, formulating analyses and recommendations),

· You have excellent writing skills, clear, organized, and concise.

· You have a strong interest in issues related to international solidarity and geopolitics,

· You are rigorous and reliable,

· You have an excellent command of French and English, both written and spoken.

· You demonstrate organization, involvement, versatility, and autonomy.

· Experience in the NGO sector would be an asset.

ACCESSIBILITY OF THE WORKPLACE:

The premises are easily accessible by public transport (bus, metro). A bike rack is available. All workstations are located in an open space, but offices are available for quiet work if necessary. The workspace is very bright.
