Why are we recruiting?

To support our strong growth, we are looking for an AI Engineer intern who will work 50% on R&D projects within the Innovation team, and 50% on client projects within our Data & Transformation Services team.

At Ekimetrics, the Innovation department conducts AI research in collaboration with our industrial and academic partners, while the Data & Transformation Services team supports our clients with their AI-related challenges.

Our unique market positioning will allow you to combine varied statistical and learning skills — from econometric models to deep learning, including numerical optimization — with a strategic approach, to best meet our clients' business challenges.

Your responsibilities

• Analysis of business needs: translate business needs into technical problems and define measurable objectives
• Identification of technical solutions: collaborate with the team (seniors/managers) to identify approaches that meet specific project requirements
• Research and innovation: conduct research work within the Innovation department
• Data processing and analysis: collaborate with data engineers to collect, clean, and preprocess data necessary for model building; conduct exploratory analyses supported by relevant visualizations
• Solution development: develop and deploy identified machine learning models, optimize existing models, and design new approaches to improve performance
• Industrialization: adhere to good coding practices to ensure model industrialization, in conjunction with our Solution experts
• Communication and collaboration: present technical results clearly and accessibly to the team and clients, and collaborate with different teams to ensure effective integration of proposed solutions
• Knowledge sharing: share your knowledge internally by providing expert support
• Technological watch: follow technological advancements and trends in the data science and machine learning sector

The profile we are looking for

• Education in AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a similar field
• In-depth understanding of the statistical and mathematical concepts underlying machine learning and AI algorithms
• Good understanding of the technical challenges and issues faced by client teams
• Excellent communication skills, to explain technical concepts accessibly and present results and next steps to clients
• Ability to analyze a problem and propose the right scenarios after a framing phase
• Autonomy, proactivity, excellence, and curiosity
• Proficiency in Python and its common libraries (TensorFlow or PyTorch, scikit-learn, LangChain)
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, for source code tracking and collaborative work
• Data manipulation skills (Extraction, Transformation, Loading — ETL) are a plus
