Staff Specialist Geriatrician – Tamworth

Join dynamic Integrated Care teams in either Tamworth, New South Wales**, delivering specialist medical care across acute, rehabilitation, and community settings. * Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex geriatric conditions.
* Collaborate within **multidisciplinary teams** to optimise patient outcomes across hospital, rehabilitation, and community care.
* Lead initiatives to improve the care of older persons, including quality and safety activities.
* Contribute to teaching, mentoring, and professional development of junior medical staff.
* Have potential to establish **private practice**, with support for credentialing, administrative assistance, and introductions to local referral networks.


Tamworth, NSW

* **Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital**, providing acute, outpatient, and community care for older persons.
* Supported by a Clinical Nurse Practitioner, with broad scope to influence geriatric service development.
* Work across hospital, community, and residential care settings.
* Opportunities for leadership, safety and quality improvement projects, and interdisciplinary collaboration.



* **Medical degree registrable with AHPRA**
* **Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Geriatric Medicine)** or specialist registration with AHPRA
* Demonstrated clinical expertise in **Geriatric Medicine**
* Strong communication skills and ability to work within **interdisciplinary teams**
* Leadership and management experience, including safety and quality improvement initiatives
* Commitment to ongoing professional development, teaching, and mentoring
