We build and shape technology solutions that solve customers problems every day, making things easier for them when they shop with us online… Job Description: The Staff Software Engineer will drive the technical vision and execution of key initiatives within our e-commerce platform. They will be responsible for providing technical leadership, mentoring other engineers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and a passion for solving complex technical challenges. They will work closely with product managers, other engineers, and stakeholders to define and execute the technical roadmap for their area. This is a hands-on technical role. Key Responsibilities: * Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams. Make technical decisions, set standards, and ensure adherence to best practices. * Software Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and security. * Mentoring: Mentor and coach other engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing. * Code Reviews: Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality. * Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, define technical specifications, and deliver solutions. * Problem Solving: Identify and solve complex technical problems, proactively addressing potential issues. * Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. * Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, API specifications, and operational procedures. * Support and Troubleshooting: Provide support for production systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system stability. Qualifications: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field. * 10+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on web applications and e-commerce platforms. * Strong proficiency in Java or other relevant programming languages. * Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs. * Deep understanding of software design patterns and architectural principles. * Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). * Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL). * Experience with Agile development methodologies. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
