Staff Engineer

As a Staff Engineer at Opus 2, you’ll lead the delivery of large-scale features and projects within your squad while beginning to influence cross-squad engineering practices. You’ll serve as a trusted technical expert, partnering with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and user focused. You’ll raise technical standards, coach engineers, and balance delivery speed with long-term maintainability and reliability. What you'll be doing Own and deliver complex, cross-team technical projects from inception to production. Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers on your team. Collaborate with product, design, and engineering leadership to define technical roadmaps. Identify and drive technical improvements across multiple teams. Mentor and coach other engineers, helping them grow and develop their skills. Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality and adherence to best practices. Contribute to the overall engineering culture and standards. What you'll bring Deep understanding of software engineering principles and best practices. Proven ability to design and build scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems. Experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment. Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for technology. Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with DevOps practices (e.g., CI/CD). Bonus points Experience working with legal tech or similar industries. Experience with microservices architecture.
