Sr PHP Backend Developer (Brazil-based professionals only)

We are looking for an experienced developer to join our team and work on a project for one of our clients, a leading company in the electronic security and monitoring segment. The client is recognized for its robust and innovative technological solutions for alarm central stations, CCTV, video monitoring, and technical order management.

About the Project:

You will work on a robust system in production, widely used by electronic security monitoring centers. The focus of the project is to integrate solutions that involve automation, real-time communication, integration with hardware and external systems, always prioritizing performance and scalability.

This is a project with direct impact on people's and organizations' safety and tranquility. We work to create robust and innovative technological solutions that meet the needs of monitoring centers. Your contribution will be essential in bringing even more innovation to the sector!

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs in Laravel 11;
• Evolving and maintaining legacy PHP system with DAO standard;
• Creating and optimizing complex SQL queries;
• Implementing integrations with APIs and external systems;
• Working with queues and asynchronous jobs;
• Documenting APIs using Swagger/OpenAPI;
• Writing clean code following PSR standards;
• Participating in code reviews and architecture improvements.

Mandatory Requirements:

• More than 5 years of experience as a Backend Developer with proven track record;
• Minimum 3 years of experience with PHP (experience with modern versions);
• Solid understanding of Laravel framework (10+);
• Advanced knowledge in MySQL, especially in query optimization;;
• Experience with RESTful APIs;
• Knowledge of JWT (firebase/php-jwt) authentication;
• Able to work with legacy PHP code, following good practices for refactoring and maintenance;
• Familiarity with Git for version control.

Desirable Requirements:

• Experience with MongoDB (focused on logs);
• Knowledge in AWS (S3, EC2);
• Knowledge in Docker for container orchestration;
• Experience with WebSockets for real-time communication;
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence technologies, such as Windsurf AI or Cursor, applied to development;
• Knowledge of the electronic security sector will be a plus;
• Familiarity with hardware integration and alarm systems (e.g., RTSP, HLS).

Contractual Conditions:

• Full-time remote work;
• Dedication to 40 hours per week with focus on deliveries;
• Payout between R$ 9,500 and R$ 12,500 monthly;
• Contract as PJ (Pessoa Jurídica) through Workana;
• Ongoing project with an initial contract of 12 months and renewal conditional upon good performance.

Selection Process:

1. Rapid video screening on the Hireflix platform;
2. Practical technical test on the Adaface platform (simulating real challenges);
3. Brief alignment call with a Workana recruiter specialist;
4. Tech and cultural interview directly with the client.
