Sr. Director/Principal Research Scientist, Quantum Computing

Key responsibilities include: • Designing and executing research initiatives that advance the state of the art in quantum computing and drive business value for Visa. • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including technology, product, and business units, to develop transformative capabilities for the future. • Publishing high-impact papers and presenting at top-tier conferences to share research findings and build thought leadership. • Securing funding from government agencies or private foundations to support research initiatives. • Mentoring junior researchers and providing guidance on research methodologies and best practices. • Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in quantum computing and applying this knowledge to drive innovation and business value for Visa. Requirements: • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Physics, or a related field. • 8+ years of experience in research and development, with a strong track record of publishing high-impact papers and presenting at top-tier conferences. • Proven expertise in quantum computing, including but not limited to: quantum algorithms, quantum error correction, and quantum simulation. • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB. • Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders. • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
