Sr Associate, Investment Banking - M&A

Purpose

Contribute to the Investment Banking Mexico area with the execution and closing of mergers and acquisitions and capital markets (ECM) mandates. Additionally, meet individual goals, and help achieve common internal team goals, such as collaborating with other areas, like Corporate Banking, GCM, S&E, DCM, among others. Ensure that all activities performed are in compliance with current internal standards, policies, and procedures.

The position focuses on preparing executive presentations for clients, developing financial models, and conducting research as required. As experience is gained, the associate will take on greater responsibilities which may include leading transactions and participating in business development with support and guidance from more experienced team members. In any project, the associate will interact with potential and current clients, thereby strengthening business relationships and the bank's market position.

Responsibilities

• Build financial models (financial statements and sensitivity analyses) with different valuation methodologies

• Perform valuation of companies or assets considering intrinsic valuation methods (DCF, DDM, LBO, etc.) as well as precedent transactions and multiples of comparable companies

• Generate recommendations for clients, contemplating alternatives that include debt and equity transactions

• Research, analyze, and conduct due diligence for projects in which the bank is involved, including VDR and coordination of external advisors

• Analyze historical financial information of different companies, industries, markets, and/or economic analyses to prepare reports that aid in decision-making

• Prepare marketing materials for our clients, including Confidential Information Memoranda (CIM), executive presentations, teasers, roadshow presentations, pitchbooks, or any other required material

• Provide support to more experienced team members, as well as mentorship to analysts and interns

• Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with applicable regulations, internal policies, and procedures

Requirements

• Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written)

• Possess a high level of attention to detail

• Develop successfully under pressure while meeting strict deadlines

• Ability to adapt to new circumstances and a great enthusiasm for learning

• Capacity to work on multiple projects with the highest standard of quality

• Solid knowledge in topics such as financial analysis, accounting, and finance theory

• Ability to present to senior management

• Possess the ability and enthusiasm to mentor less experienced team members

• Have a minimum of 4 years of experience in the industry, ideally in investment banking, private equity, or equivalents

• Preferably a graduate of one of the following majors: Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or an Engineering field

• Possession of any level of accredited CFA will be considered a plus
