Job description

In this role, you support the operation of test rigs and test stands for combustion engines and electric drives. You work in a team that combines measurement technology, IT infrastructure, and prototype construction – and develop solutions that take measurement technology to the next level.

You are responsible for the IT architecture, system stability, and secure operation of the infrastructure that is essential for BMW development. A job for IT specialists who like to dive deep into systems, take responsibility, and work in a modern development environment.

This position is to be filled within the framework of worker leasing, with excellent takeover opportunities!

Your Tasks

  • Setup and maintenance of existing IT infrastructure (servers, storage, network devices, end devices)

  • Support in providing, validating, and quality testing of new or updated infrastructure components

  • Collaboration with internal teams and external service providers to align IT operation, design concepts, and technical solutions

  • Ensuring system availability, data backup, and redundancy through installations, upgrades, patches, and maintenance processes

  • Management of IT projects for long-term infrastructure planning and system stability

  • Documentation of system configurations, best practices, and lessons learned

  • Analysis of IT service reports and key figures to ensure platform stability and IT security

  • Support throughout the entire lifecycle of the IT infrastructure (hardware upgrades, software updates, security patches)

  • Induction into BMW-specific IT operations, security standards, and global infrastructure strategies

  • Communication with business and IT stakeholders to ensure IT service delivery

What you bring

  • Completed training as a computer scientist, IT system electronics technician, or comparable qualification

  • Ideal qualification HV1

  • Knowledge of BMW tools (e.g. ADGR, Matrix42, ITAM, Tenable, ConnectIT, KPI, iStore, Tufin)

  • Experience in the BMW IT software and hardware landscape

  • Experience in the BMW development environment is advantageous

  • Programming knowledge in VBS, C++, Python is desirable

  • Very good teamwork, engagement, and initiative

  • Independent, structured, and responsible working style
