Monitoring & Observability Specialist

Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Monitoring & Observability Specialist to join our team and take charge of the monitoring systems used for the Genetec Security Center systems in the SaaS/SaaS Classic Cloud environments. You will play an essential role in creating and maintaining a robust observability stack using Grafana, Prometheus, Loki and OpenTelemetry Collector. Your work will enable our team to proactively detect, diagnose and resolve problems before they impact operations.

Your day at a glance:

• Develop intuitive and actionable Grafana dashboards tailored to the different aspects of the product (Core/Video/AC/Unification/LPR, etc.)
• Configure Prometheus exporters and OpenTelemetry pipelines to collect telemetry data throughout the environment
• Set up automated alerting mechanisms to detect anomalies, performance degradation and system failures
• Collaborate with the Delivery and Development teams to improve monitoring based on new support cases where problems have not been proactively detected
• Continuously improve observability practices and tools to enhance system reliability and incident response
• Document the monitoring architecture, workflows and troubleshooting guides for internal teams

What makes you a great candidate:

• Fluent in French and English, both oral and written (this position requires interactions with our international collaborators and customers)
• In-depth knowledge of Grafana, Prometheus, Loki and OpenTelemetry Collector
• Solid experience in troubleshooting Genetec Security Center
• Proficiency in configuring alerting rules, dashboards and data sources in Grafana
• Good understanding of telemetry data (metrics, logs, traces) and observability principles
• Experience in the field of scripting (e.g., Powershell) and configuration management tools
• Knowledge of networks, system performance and Windows environments
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

An asset if you have:

• Experience with cloud-based systems (VM) in Azure
