As a Specialist, Ethics and Compliance, within the local subsidiary, you will report to AbbVie's Ethics and Compliance Bureau. Working closely with the Compliance Committee and the Head of Ethics and Compliance, you will have the responsibility to develop, implement, and maintain a robust compliance program, ensuring that it includes the seven recognized elements of an effective compliance program. You will also ensure proactive support and strategic guidance necessary for the achievement of the company's main commercial initiatives and become a strategic partner with its other business sectors.

Main responsibilities

More specifically, the Specialist, Ethics and Compliance, exercises the following responsibilities under the supervision of the Director, Ethics and Compliance:

• Maintain that policies and procedures are regularly reviewed, updated, and current. In collaboration with other commercial sectors within the subsidiary, contribute significantly to the development of processes and policies governing relationships with external stakeholders, such as healthcare professionals, patients, and government representatives or payers.
• Ensure that training sessions on AbbVie's Compliance Program, Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, MNC Code of Ethics, and related policies are offered to commercial sectors. Additionally, in collaboration with the Learning – Ethics and Compliance partner, create, revise, and maintain online modules. Monitor compliance with the subsidiary's training plan.
• Contribute to raising awareness about ethics principles and compliance across all levels of the company, by developing and organizing awareness campaigns within the subsidiary.
• Maintain and manage electronic platforms and systems related to compliance tools and documentation.
• Perform periodic risk assessments and help implement a transactional tracking system (which may lead to measures to improve activities or tighten compliance) within the subsidiary.
• Support the subsidiary in conducting compliance audits, ensure follow-up on requests from auditors, ensure liaison between commercial activity leaders and auditors during fieldwork.
• Develop, implement, modify, and apply the subsidiary's information declaration system, responding to concerns and providing corrective measures as needed. Supervise trends and propose recommendations for corrective and preventive measures in case of non-reportable compliance incidents.
• With the support of the Head, Ethics and Compliance Bureau, represent the Ethics and Compliance Bureau in key projects and initiatives to help the company achieve its objectives while respecting applicable compliance standards (e.g., MNC Code of Ethics, Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, and AbbVie's Ethics and Compliance Bureau policies).
• As needed, support and counsel AbbVie employees and third parties on matters related to engagement and conclusion of contracts with Canadian stakeholders (healthcare professionals and patients).
• Work with key stakeholders within the subsidiary (e.g., Finance, Legal Services, Medical Affairs) to support company activities.
• Translate external conformity changes in Canada into concrete principles.
• As needed, assume permanent or ad-hoc responsibilities, for example, participate in regional and global projects.
