Visual Rehabilitation Specialist (SRDV) for the Abitibi Region

Title of the position: Visual Rehabilitation Specialist (SRDV)
Location: Abitibi – Possible travel within the region

Per diem: $70 per diem per worked day

We offer professional services in personnel placement, focusing on respect, ethics, and excellence. We are currently looking for a Visual Rehabilitation Specialist (SRDV) to fill needs in the Abitibi region.

The SRDV plays a key role in accompanying individuals with partial or total visual impairment. You will contribute to improving their autonomy and quality of life through personalized and adapted interventions, at home, in an institution, or in a school setting.

Your main mission will be:

• Evaluate functional visual capacities and reintegration needs.
• Develop individualized intervention plans in collaboration with the user and clinical teams.
• Teach adaptation strategies and the use of technical aids (e.g.: magnifying glasses, screen readers, braille).
• Intervene with a clientele of all ages (children, adults, seniors).
• Participate in interdisciplinary follow-ups with occupational therapists, orthoptists, psychologists, and other professionals.
• Offer support to caregivers, if needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in orientation and mobility, or visual rehabilitation (or equivalent recognized).
• Member in good standing of the Order of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Quebec (OOAQ) or another relevant instance.
• Experience in intervention with individuals with visual impairment (an asset).
• Excellent communication and adaptation skills.
• Valid driving permit and access to a vehicle (mandatory for travel in Abitibi).
• Knowledge of the healthcare network and social services (CISSS, CIUSSS).
• Bilingualism (French/English).
• Mastery of technological tools for vision aid.
