Specialist Water Distribution – Asset Planning – starting area Province of Utrecht

We are looking for a new colleague for our Asset Planning team!

What you will be working on

As a Specialist Water Distribution, you will develop a tactical/strategic plan for provincial water distribution and perform analyses using hydraulic models to meet delivery requirements and regulations. You will ensure that the drinking water supply remains sustainable and efficient in the future.

Your main tasks:

• Water Distribution: Developing tactical/strategic plans for a future-proof drinking water distribution.
• Hydraulic Analyses: Performing hydraulic analyses to support tactical/strategic choices and investments.
• Projects and Collaboration: Contributing substantively to multidisciplinary projects and coordinating with internal and external parties.
• Investments and Optimization: Solving hydraulic bottlenecks and evaluating investment options.
• Innovation and Automation: Developing tools and methods to support analyses and decision-making.
• Knowledge and Policy: Contributing to policy development and knowledge sharing within the field.

As a Specialist Water Distribution, you will strengthen the Asset Planning team. The team consists of Water Distributors and planners. You will also collaborate with various professionals,

including ecologists, environmental managers, project managers, and hydrologists, etc. Curious about how your future colleague experiences working at Vitens?

What you bring

We are most interested in who you are and what you can do. It is important that you are yourself and work analytically and results-oriented. We will see this reflected in your approach to complex issues surrounding water distribution.

Furthermore, we count on you for:

• HBO (Higher Professional Education) work and thinking level obtained through education or work experience.
• Background in a technical education with an affinity for drinking water and demonstrable knowledge of hydraulic network modeling.
• More than 5 years of relevant work experience with water distribution issues and experience with modeling tools.
• Proficiency in the Dutch language (minimum level B2).
• Software: Affinity with software packages Infoworks WS Pro and Epanet is a plus.
  

This is how we take care of you

As a Specialist Water Distribution, you will strengthen our team for (if desired, specify number of hours) per week. For this, you can count on the following employment conditions (based on 40 hours per week):

• Up to €5,877.00 gross per month. Additionally, you will receive a Flexible Employment Conditions Budget (FAB) of 16.51% on top of your salary. In accordance with CAO 2026. This budget includes your holiday pay and year-end bonus, among other things.
• Hybrid working: together with your team, you decide where and when you work, at home, at the office, or at one of our production locations.
• 31.5 vacation days. A portion of these days and the FAB can be used for your work-life balance or life stage.
