Our mission is to provide rehabilitation services that empower people to realize their full potential. We are currently seeking a Specialist, Early Intervention, to join our team in [Location]. Reporting to the Manager, Programs and Services, the Early Intervention Specialist provides direct service to families with young children (0-6 years) who are blind or partially sighted in their home, child care centre, or other community settings. The Early Intervention Specialist provides consultation, assessment, intervention, and education for families, children, and professionals. The Early Intervention Specialist collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of each child and family. **Key Responsibilities:** * Provide direct services to children 0-6 years of age and their families who are blind or partially sighted, in their home or other community settings. * Conduct functional vision assessments and make recommendations related to vision and learning. * Collaborate with the family and multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on the child's needs. * Provide training and support to families to promote their child's development and independence. * Educate families, professionals, and the community about the needs of children who are blind or partially sighted. * Provide consultation to child care centers, schools, and other community agencies regarding the needs of children with vision loss. * Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records. * Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and other relevant meetings as required. * Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications:** * Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field. * Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (CTVI) preferred. * Experience working with young children who are blind or partially sighted. * Knowledge of child development and early intervention principles. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle. * Ability to travel within the assigned region. **Benefits of Working at Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada:** * Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision care. * Paid time off and holidays. * Professional development opportunities. * Opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others. * A supportive and collaborative work environment.
