About the Position:

Our client is seeking a seasoned Special Counsel – Property & Commercial to take on a pivotal leadership role within their Queensland practice. Based in the Gold Coast, you will drive complex and high-value transactions while mentoring a talented team of junior lawyers.

This role spans a diverse practice mix, including:

• Property law – acting on major acquisitions, developments, leasing, and sales
• Commercial contracts – drafting and negotiating shareholder agreements, joint ventures, and supplier arrangements
• Business advisory – advising SMEs and corporates on asset protection and business structuring
• Mergers & acquisitions – managing transactions including due diligence and deal structuring
• Property finance – advising on mortgage arrangements, lending structures and securities

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 8 years’ PAE in property and commercial law (private practice preferred)
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory capabilities

• Commercial acumen and the ability to foster strong client relationships
• Experience mentoring junior lawyers
• Desire to contribute to firm growth and strategic development
