Aufgaben

• You design and are responsible for the solution and system architecture of business-critical applications in complex, often grown systems landscapes.
• You translate functional requirements and non-functional quality goals into feasible technical decisions. This includes security, maintainability, scalability, availability, performance, and integrability.
• You analyze existing systems, identify technical risks and debts, and develop realistic target architectures and modernization paths.
• You decide not based on technology trends, but based on context. You evaluate architecture approaches, cloud components, integration patterns, and platforms based on their actual advantages and disadvantages.
• You stay close to implementation. Through prototypes, architecture spikes, reviews, and joint work with development teams, you ensure that architecture does not just work on diagrams.
• You document decisions clearly, make conflicting goals transparent, and create orientation for developers, departments, and technical stakeholders.
• You develop our architecture and engineering standards further and bring in new approaches like Agentive Engineering controlled into productive project environments.

Qualifikation

• You have several years of experience in professional software development and have already taken on responsibility for complex systems as an architect.
• You are technically still hands-on and have fundamental knowledge of Springboot and Angular, as well as modern web architectures.
• You know different architecture approaches and integration patterns – from modular monoliths and microservices to event-driven systems up to API and platform architectures.
• You can structure functional requirements and quality goals like security, availability, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• You have experience with cloud architectures, containers, CI/CD, and operating distributed systems. Ideally, you know Azure/GCP/AWS/OpenShift from productive projects.
• You can evaluate existing systems and codebases, make technical risks transparent, and derive realistic target images and modernization strategies from them.
• You have broad knowledge of business-critical architecture principles like zero-trust, observability, resilience, and fault tolerance, as well as their impact on security, maintainability, and operational stability.
• You document architectural decisions precisely and clearly, for example with Architecture Decision Records, C4 models, or similar formats.
• You can lead developers professionally, advise stakeholders, and bring together different interests to a feasible decision.
• You immerse yourself deeply in new technical domains and do not settle for technically elegant solutions that miss the actual business problem.
