Job description

This is us:

BuildlinX is developing the next generation of building automation. With this, we are tackling one of the biggest climate problems of our time: Building operations account for around 30% of global CO₂ emissions. This is exactly where we come in - and make buildings fundamentally more efficient and climate-friendly.
With a team of around 20 employees, we develop the technology and tools to make building automation simpler and more scalable. Together with an established public innovation partner, we are already putting modern building automation into practice on a large scale today and thus driving an entire market towards the future.

Our software and tools connect digital and physical systems. This is precisely why we are looking for someone who understands complex technology, recognizes interrelationships, and is eager to actively shape our technical future.

Tasks

This is what you will do with us:

  • Develop technical concepts: You translate requirements from product, projects, and business into viable technical solution approaches and actively decide how we implement them.
  • Design architecture & systems: You will immerse yourself in our software architecture, analyze interfaces, APIs, and data flows, and connect software, data, and physical systems into a functioning overall system.
  • Consistently use AI: You will use AI intensively in software development and develop approaches with us to further automate development work.
  • Hands-on implementation & building: You will implement your architectures, concepts, and AI approaches yourself and actively, independently, and pragmatically translate them into code and systems.
  • Take real ownership: You actively take on responsibility, tackle challenges independently and solution-oriented, and drive topics forward on your own initiative.

Qualifications

This is what you bring with you:

  • Technical background: You have completed a degree in engineering or computer science (e.g., Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology) or have a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience.
  • Professional experience: You ideally have at least two to three years of professional experience after your studies and have already worked on real technical systems.
  • Software & architecture understanding: You have used more than one programming language productively, understand modern (e.g., distributed/microservice) architectures, and think in terms of APIs, interfaces, and end-to-end data flows.
  • Problem-solving: You can analyze complex technical challenges in a structured way and weigh different solution paths against each other.
  • AI mindset: You are intensively engaged with how AI is changing software development and already have experience with AI-supported development processes.
  • Hands-on mentality: You don't just want to plan and conceptualize; you are passionate about developing, building, and implementing your ideas and solutions hands-on yourself.
  • Communication: You can explain technical contexts understandably, defend decisions, and document them comprehensibly. Your German is at least C1 level.

Not a must, but a plus:

  • Event Driven Architectures and Data Platforms
  • Embedded Systems or Hardware Integration
  • DevOps or Cybersecurity
  • Experience in the areas of energy, infrastructure, or building automation

Benefits

These are your advantages with us:

  • Responsibility & Team: With us, you can not only prepare technical decisions but truly help shape them. You will work closely with our CTO, our development team, and product and business.
  • Real creative freedom: You will not enter a fully developed organization with years of established and cemented structures. You can directly influence our architecture, our way of working, and our technical development.
  • Central location & work model: We work in a hybrid model. Our centrally located office is easily accessible and offers space for exchange and collaboration; mobile working is possible.
  • Health & Mobility: With the job ticket, you can travel around the city relaxed, and the EGYM Wellpass offers you balance in over 6,000 sports and wellness facilities.
  • Holiday bonus: Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve are non-working days for us. You save your vacation and start the new year relaxed and without deductions.
