Solution Architect - AWS Platform & Cloud Security (m/f/d)

Who we are

Rockstardevelopers, founded in 2015 in Mannheim, with additional offices in Stuttgart and Munich. We are a software development company with experience from hundreds of individual projects for enterprise and medium-sized clients.

Short communication channels, honest feedback, no political games. No hierarchy levels between you and the people who make decisions.

Your Tasks

• Design and further develop platform architecture on AWS: EKS, ECR, Fargate, cluster design, namespace strategies, high availability
• Security concepts for regulated environments: Zero Trust, IAM/RBAC, container security, encryption, audit logging, network segmentation
• Design asynchronous, loosely coupled system landscapes – Kafka/MSK, EventBridge, SNS/SQS, plus Saga, CQRS and Event Sourcing
• Implement Everything-as-Code: Terraform or CDK, Policy-as-Code with OPA/Gatekeeper, GitOps deployments via ArgoCD or Flux
• Get hands-on in ongoing operations: Incidents, post-incident reviews, and the architectural decisions that follow
• Develop productively with AI tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor)

Most people come to one of the offices one to two days a week. There is no compulsion. On-site at the client's only for individual appointments every few weeks.

Where you will land

Depending on the project: Large corporations such as Deutsche Bahn / DB Systel, public sector (Federal Employment Agency, ITZBund, Bundesdruckerei) as well as enterprise and medium-sized clients – focusing on platform and architecture topics.

What you bring

Senior-level, more than five years of experience. Our clients need people who deliver from day one and work independently.

• Kubernetes platforms on AWS – built and operated, not just used (EKS, ECR, Fargate)
• Security architecture in complex enterprise environments: Zero Trust, IAM/RBAC, container security, compliance
• Event-Driven Architecture with Kafka or the AWS equivalents, including consistency patterns
• Infrastructure as Code and GitOps: Terraform, CDK or Pulumi, ArgoCD or Flux
• ITIL operations with your own technical contribution, not just governance

Advantageous: SAFe and PI Plannings, BPMN 2.0 with Camunda (Platform 7 or 8), AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer), Kubernetes CKA/CKS.

You don't have to be able to do everything. The important thing is that you can quickly find your way into new environments. German fluent in spoken and written, English at C2 level.

AI Tools are Mandatory, Not a Bonus

Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor: You must be able to work productively with them. Not because we want to be hip, but because our clients expect it and that's how we work. If you consider AI tools a hype and prefer to type everything yourself: wrong company. We invest internally in your AI skills.
