Role Purpose

The purpose of a Solid Plasterer is to protect, finish, and enhance the surfaces of buildings and structures by applying plaster, cement, and render coatings. Their role ensures both durability and aesthetic quality in construction and renovation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation: Prepare and treat brick, concrete, masonry, and fibre cement surfaces for plastering and rendering.
• Application of Coatings: Mix and apply coats of plaster, cement render, and acrylic textures to internal and external structures, ensuring smooth, textured, or patterned finishes.
• Protective Finishes: Deliver durable coatings that safeguard building surfaces against weathering and wear, in line with client specifications.
• Repair & Restoration: Patch, repair, and restore damaged plaster or render on existing structures to maintain structural integrity and visual appeal.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow AJ Labour Hire’s workplace safety standards and Fair Work requirements, ensuring all work meets building codes and migration compliance obligations.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively with site supervisors, tradespeople, and AJ Labour Hire’s client partners to deliver projects on time and to quality standards.
• Tool & Material Handling: Operate plastering tools and equipment responsibly, maintaining efficiency and minimising waste.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

Education/Training:

• Certificate III in Solid Plastering (or equivalent trade qualification).
• At least 1-2 years of experience.

Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in applying cement render, plaster, and acrylic texture coatings.
• Ability to prepare and treat masonry, concrete, and fibre cement surfaces.
• Knowledge of decorative finishes, restoration methods, and protective coatings.
