Your choice for the Army is made, but you don't know exactly which department yet… You'd prefer to experience that yourself before making your choice. The Army will actively help you with that!

This is what you will do

Therefore, after your Basic Training Royal Netherlands Army (BOKL), you will have an orientation period of several weeks from the barracks at 't Harde, at different barracks of the Operational Support Command Land (OOCL). During this period, you will be introduced to the various combat support units such as logistics, communications, and medical services.

After this orientation period, you will indicate your preference for one or more of these units, and your final choice will be determined in consultation with the Army. You will then follow the vocational training, so you can get started within your chosen direction as a Soldier!

We call these directions 'weapons' or 'service branches' within the Army. Which 'weapon' will be your preference later? Check the vacancies below:

This is where you will work

After your application, you will be invited for the application and selection process. If you successfully complete this, your career in the Royal Netherlands Army will start with several weeks of Basic Training Royal Netherlands Army (BOKL) in Ermelo. After completing this training, you will be placed in one of the units and during the orientation period of approximately 6 weeks, you will get acquainted with all aspects of life in a barracks. You will participate in all service branches at the barracks and can thus prepare yourself well for your final choice. Afterwards, in consultation with your supervisor from the Army, you will make a choice and follow the vocational training that belongs to it. Please note, your choices may sometimes be limited by the number of available training positions and your prior education. For some vacancies, you need a specific educational background, so check the vacancies to see if you have it. You must possess a valid passport at the start of your training!
