Imagine: as a Driver of a CV-90 Armored Vehicle, you will go with your team to the scene of action to conduct ground combat there. Sounds exciting? Note: if you are hired for this position, you will be appointed as 'Infantry Soldier' within the Ministry of Defence.

What you will do

As a Driver of a CV-90 Armored Vehicle, you will work with the most powerful unit of the Royal Netherlands Army. The CV-90 can transport infantry to and from the front and actively participate in combat itself. You will be part of a group of 3 soldiers who jointly operate the vehicle. Additionally, together with the vehicle commander, you will be responsible for the 35mm rapid-fire cannon and a MAG 7.62mm machine gun with which the vehicle is also equipped. You will perform your tasks in and around the vehicle. For example, you will fire the cannon, maintain the vehicle, and know how to camouflage it effectively when necessary. Furthermore, you are of course an infantry soldier and will regularly train in operating without the vehicle.

Note: there are multiple start dates throughout the year. After applying, you will receive a personal application file containing an enrollment date. Please note: this is a fictitious date and therefore incorrect. The start date for which you are eligible will be determined later. This depends, among other things, on the results of the psychological selection, the appointment medical examination, and the security screening, which are part of the application process. Once all these components have been successfully completed, your start date will be discussed and finalized.

Where you will work

You will be stationed at the 43 Mechanized Brigade in Darp. This brigade is mainly located in the northern part of Overijssel. The brigade consists of two mechanized infantry battalions, of which you will become a part. Camaraderie is strong, and you will be an indispensable link in that close-knit team.

Before you start working, you will first complete a training program, consisting of the Basic Training Royal Netherlands Army (BOKL) in Assen or Oirschot, supplemented by the Maneuver Function Training (MFO) in Assen. After successfully completing your training, you will immediately begin your career as an infantry soldier in a Mechanized Infantry Battalion.
