Soldier Combat Support Engineer Air Assault

Introductory Text

Do you want to work in technology, become part of a close-knit team, and get enough physical challenge? As a Combat Support Engineer Soldier Air Assault, you will work with military technology in one of Defense's most rapidly deployable combat units.

Note: If hired for this position, you will be employed by Defense with the job title 'Soldier Air Assault Engineer'.

What you will do

As a Combat Support Engineer Soldier Air Assault, you are a technical jack-of-all-trades. For example, you ensure that your colleagues in the Air Assault Brigade can easily overcome obstacles, such as rivers or minefields. But you also create obstacles to stop, slow down, or change the direction of the enemy. You always work in the field: you build bridges, learn to lay and clear mines, and how to blow up a bridge with explosives. As a technical specialist and proud wearer of the red beret, you also participate in everything your colleagues in the Air Assault Brigade do. This means you will fly with helicopters and walk long distances with heavy loads.

ADVANTAGES OF THIS FUNCTION

• Salary: your gross base salary, supplemented by allowances and our favorable travel expenses, pension, and health insurance schemes, will result in a pleasant net surprise.
• Work atmosphere: nowhere will you be part of such a close-knit team of colleagues as at Defense.
• Growth opportunities: Defense is not only an employer but also a large training institute where you can follow courses for personal and professional growth.

Note: there are multiple start dates throughout the year. After applying, you will receive a personal application file with an enlistment date. Please note: this is a fictional date and therefore incorrect. The start date you are eligible for will be determined later. This depends, among other things, on the results of the psychological assessment, the medical examination, and the security screening, which are part of the application process. Once all these parts have been successfully completed, your start date will be discussed and finalized.

As a Combat Support Engineer Soldier Air Assault, you will regularly participate in exercises at home and abroad and may be deployed.

After enlistment, you will first complete the General Military Training Air Assault (AMOL) in Schaarsbergen. In the AMOL, you will be trained to be able to operate as an individual soldier in an operational area and function within a military organization.
