Job description

Turn good ideas into software that impresses in everyday life

You try out new functions and quickly notice when something isn't running smoothly? You want to understand bugs, help shape solutions, and make a product better together with a small team? Then this could be your role at AUGLETICS.

We develop and produce smart rowing machines in Königs Wusterhausen near Berlin. With us, you'll directly see how your work improves our customers' training: you'll test on the actual device, work closely with development, and accompany new features until release.

You'll join our software team of four to five people and work directly with our CTO Christopher Klabunde. Your focus will be on software quality. In addition, you will take on technical project coordination: you will bring order to open tasks, clarify requirements, and help the team implement ideas reliably. You can grow into this responsibility.

This is what you'll do with us

  • Test app and device thoroughly: You will check new functions, typical training sequences, and edge cases, and provide concrete feedback on functionality and usability.

  • Build and improve tests: You will develop test cases, checklists, and repeatable regression tests. Step by step, you will build test automation – wherever it benefits the product and the team.

  • Track bugs to resolution: You will describe reproducible steps, narrow down causes with development, and check if a fix also works in conjunction with other functions.

  • Bring projects to completion: You will structure tasks, formulate clear acceptance criteria, coordinate dependencies, and make progress and open questions visible.

  • Facilitate collaboration: You will moderate agile coordination, for example from Scrum or Kanban, and help remove obstacles. Together with Chris and the team, you will further develop processes that suit us.

  • Utilize AI practically: You will use AI-powered tools for test ideas, bug analysis, small helper programs, and automation, and carefully check the results.

What you bring

  • Interest in software testing, quality assurance, and technical projects. Initial experience is welcome, but not a prerequisite – we are also interested in your own learning path or the motivation to delve into the topic anew.

  • Enjoyment in looking closely and solving problems systematically. You can clearly explain what isn't working and how to reproduce it.

  • Technical understanding of the interplay between app, device, and backend, as well as a desire to dive deeper.

  • Initiative and a structured way of working. You ask questions, follow up on open points, and take responsibility for results.

  • Openness to AI-assisted development and testing. If you've already experimented with it yourself, feel free to show us an example.

  • Good English in speaking and writing is required to discuss and document technical topics within the team confidently. German language skills are a great advantage, but not a prerequisite.

  • Willingness to work regularly on-site in Königs Wusterhausen: Many tests are conducted directly on the rowing machine.

A degree in computer science or a related field, a relevant apprenticeship, or comparable knowledge is a good foundation.

With experience or at the beginning: We want to get to know you

Do you already have several years of experience in this area? Great – bring your ideas and your external perspective. Are you just starting out or have no professional experience in this field yet? That's okay too. If you are passionate about our product, have technical foundations, and can quickly learn new topics, we want to get to know you.

In both cases, it is our task to integrate you well into the team and provide you with knowledge, tools, and support for a successful start. Together with Chris and the team, you will get to know our product and our processes. We will tailor tasks and responsibilities to your experience level and develop them further with you.

Additional Plus Points

  • Experience with Android development, for example with Kotlin or Java.

  • Experience with Firebase as a backend for apps and the interplay of app, user accounts, and stored data.

  • Experience in iOS development, ideally with Swift or SwiftUI.

  • Initial knowledge in test automation, Git, CI/CD, or agile project work. A Scrum Master certification is not required.

What you can look forward to

  • Your own product that you can touch and try out, and many ideas that we want to implement together with high quality.

  • A team of about 25 employees, short decision-making paths, and direct collaboration with CTO Christopher Klabunde.

  • Room for professional growth and increasing responsibility for quality, testing, and project processes.

  • Permanent full-time position with 40 hours per week and 28 days of vacation per year.

  • 50,000 to 65,000 € gross per year, depending on your relevant skills and experience.

  • Workplace Zur Heide 10 in Königs Wusterhausen near Berlin. One to two days of home office per week are possible by arrangement.

Your workplace near Berlin

Our location is Zur Heide 10 in Königs Wusterhausen. Königs Wusterhausen train station is directly connected to Berlin via the S-Bahn S46 and regional trains. The route from the station to us can be covered by bicycle. On-site, you will develop and test directly on the product; one to two days of home office per week are possible by arrangement.

Simply apply

Send us your CV in German or English. A classic cover letter is not needed. A sample project or a test concept is welcome, but not a prerequisite.

If you like: four short questions

The answers are voluntary. Bullet points are sufficient – in German or English. No additional document or test task is needed.

  1. What appeals to you about the combination of software quality, a real sports device, and project coordination?

  2. When was the last time you systematically investigated a bug or an unclear problem? The example can be from work, studies, a personal project, or everyday life.

  3. Have you already tried AI tools, software testing, or automation? What did you learn from it? If this is new to you: What would you like to start with?

  4. How confident do you feel in technical discussions in English? Does regular on-site work in Königs Wusterhausen suit you, and from when could you start?

To start, we'll get to know each other in a short online meeting. Afterwards, we'll look at your previous experience, your learning path, and the tasks at AUGLETICS together.

English-speaking applicants are welcome. English is required; German is a strong plus. The role focuses on hands-on software testing and quality assurance, with growing responsibility for project coordination. Based in Königs Wusterhausen near Berlin, with one to two home-office days per week by agreement.
