Software Tester for Web Application in Energy Trading Context

For our client from the energy sector in Bern, we are looking for an experienced, motivated, and open-minded Software Tester for web applications in the energy trading context.

In this project, you will support the quality assurance of a newly developed time series management system that will replace an existing core application. Through structured testing activities, you will ensure that the new solution functions stably, reliably, and correctly from a technical perspective throughout the entire project duration and will accompany the path to the planned go-live.

Your Responsibilities:

• Derivation of test cases from business and technical requirements as well as planning and execution of functional tests, integration, migration, and regression tests
• Testing of the web application, its APIs, as well as cross-system processes and data flows via the integration layer
• Execution of end-to-end tests considering success and error scenarios as well as verification of business results
• Analysis, documentation, and tracking of defects as well as execution of re-tests after bug fixes
• Close coordination with development, business departments, and project management for the evaluation of test results and quality risks
• Support and accompaniment of integration tests as well as the cut-over and go-live phase
• Ensuring traceable test documentation and support in the business acceptance of the solution

Your Profile:

• More than 3 years of practical experience in software testing and quality assurance of applications
• Experience in testing web applications based on ASP.NET Blazor and C#
• Experience in API testing, ideally with Postman, as well as experience with integration and interface testing
• Experience in the energy industry and understanding of business processes, time series data, and data flows are advantageous
• Analytical, structured, and meticulous work approach with high self-responsibility
• Clear and target-group-oriented communication skills in German and English

Additionally beneficial:

• Experience in test automation for UI, API, or regression tests
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB / TigerData, as well as time series databases
• Experience in agile software development projects and in collaboration with interdisciplinary project teams
