Software Engineer/ Software Developer for Scientific Software (m/w/d)

We at PicoQuant specialize in the development and manufacturing of devices for electro-optical measurements. Our team consists of around 120 employees with different fields of expertise from science and engineering. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a software developer (m/w/d) to develop innovative scientific software solutions.

Tasks

• You develop application-oriented software in Delphi and/or OpenCL for the scientific field with a focus on time-resolved fluorescence microscopy.
• You enable our customers to prepare their scientific data by implementing fundamental data analyses.
• You translate technical requirements into efficient algorithms and heuristics and continuously develop these (algorithm design).
• You parallelize algorithms to optimize performance and scalability.
• You conceptualize and design graphical user interfaces (GUI).
• You conduct code reviews and tests, including unit tests, and create end-user documentation.

Qualification

• Completed studies in the field of mathematics-natural sciences
• Experience in implementing numerical or statistical algorithms
• PRACTICAL knowledge and experience in object-oriented programming, e.g. C++ or Pascal (preferably Delphi)
• Structured, self-reliant working style and advanced analytical skills
• Very good German language skills (at least C1) and good English language skills (at least B2)
