Software Development - .NET (C# / VB.NET) with Customer Projects

For over 30 years, INPLAN has been developing standard software for ports, terminal operators, and logistics service providers, as well as for purchasing and procurement processes (Source-to-Pay). Our solutions manage business-critical operations at more than 50 locations in Germany and Europe. The Role

You will further develop our products – and you will speak directly with the people who use them. This distinguishes this position from a pure developer role: you will gather requirements directly from the customer and accompany your solution until acceptance.

The focus is on development. The customer interaction makes the work tangible – you will immediately see the impact of your work in operation.

Your Responsibilities

Development

• Further development of our productive .NET applications: new features, technical optimization, performance

• Implementation of change requests and new developments in close coordination with project management and Professional Services

• Design of technical solutions, including effort estimation

• Development and maintenance of interfaces: REST and SOAP, XML and file import/export

• Database-related work with Oracle and MS SQL Server – queries, views, stored procedures

• Code reviews, technical documentation, release and deployment processes

Customer Projects

• Gather and refine requirements together with the customer

• Specify change requests both functionally and technically, estimate efforts, and represent them in customer discussions

• Independently lead coordination meetings and product demos, via video call or on-site

• Clearly communicate results

Optional

• Contribute to our AI and automation topics, both in the product and in daily development work

Requirements

Prerequisites

• German at native level, both written and spoken. Our customers communicate in German – in writing and in conversation.

• Residence within a maximum of 60 km of Mülheim an der Ruhr. Regular on-site presence is part of the role.

• Good knowledge of C# or VB.NET. Our systems run on VB.NET. If you come from the C# world, we will support your entry – the .NET fundamentals are the same.

• Confident demeanor in customer interactions.

Your Professional Background

• Several years of professional experience in software development in a corporate environment

• Good knowledge of .NET, C#, and/or VB.NET

• Experience with extensive applications used in production

• Good SQL knowledge in Oracle and/or MS SQL Server

• Solid web and integration fundamentals: ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML

• Good English for collaboration within the Valsoft group

Advantageous

• Experience with DevExpress, jQuery, or comparable UI frameworks

• Practical use of AI tools in development

• Experience with logistics, port, ERP, or procurement software

• Routine in handling Jira and Confluence
