Software Project Engineer

Full Time

Job description

What does your day look like as a Software Project Engineer?

While you're getting your first cup of coffee, you hear your colleagues talking about a new project. A producer of energy coffee wants to get their cans in and out of the sterilization kettle as efficiently as possible and chooses an automated line with a shuttle. That means work at the store, for you as a Software Project Engineer.

You are responsible for all software and control-related matters during the design phase, engineering, assembly, testing, and commissioning of this project. This includes writing software for machine control, control panels, robot control, servo, and safety systems. Then you walk to the production hall where a colleague engineer is testing a machine from your project. You help him find a fault and check if he's still on schedule: check!

In the afternoon, you go around the table with the mechanical and electrical colleagues to work out a new concept for a module that checks if the trays are empty. Is it already so late? You quickly fill in your travel request. Because in two weeks, you'll be flying to America to deliver a pouch handling system. As a Software Project Engineer, you're often the last link in the process: you ensure that the machine works perfectly before you go home.

How you get things moving:

  • HBO study in Industrial Automation or Electrical Engineering
  • You're a problem solver, energetic, and have a proactive attitude
  • At least 3 years of work experience in automation
  • 30% of your time is spent abroad (at our customers)

We offer:

A completely new supermarket experience. Huh, what?! Really.

As soon as you start working at Lan Handling, you'll never be able to do normal shopping again. From that moment on, you'll be spinning around everywhere, cans, pots, and meal bags.

Just to check: yes! We also handle this product with our machines! But, that's not all:

  • Earn a salary between €4500 and €6400, depending on your experience.
  • A growth path with opportunities in R&D, service, or commissioning engineering.
  • Work with modern software programs and tech stacks, including Siemens TIA Portal (V15+), Rockwell Studio 5000 (V28+), Rockwell Factory Talk Optix (V1.6+), and KUKA Workvisual (6.0).
  • A work environment full of opportunities to develop yourself. Good idea? Training wishes? Discuss it with your supervisor and get started.
  • A brand-new building and nice coffee.
  • Work on location at a customer? Then we have a great compensation scheme.
  • Flexible working hours, so you can make time for sports, hobbies, or simply taking your children to school in the morning.
  • In addition to 25 vacation days, you'll also receive 13 ADV days. So you'll have enough time left over to do fun things besides work.
  • An annual profit-sharing payment. Because we work from the idea that we do it together and everyone contributes to a positive result for the organization, you'll benefit from a financially successful year for the organization.
  • Go tandem cycling, visit the Trappist monastery, or shine during one of the other fun activities organized by our staff association.
  • Delicious Brabant treats when someone is celebrating a birthday... or when we've sold another great project!
  • Vacation allowance of 8%.
  • A good travel expense reimbursement
