About the role: As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be a key leader in Cadmus’ engineering team. You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of software engineers, contributing to the technical direction of the product, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software. You will work closely with other engineering managers, product managers, and designers to build and improve our platform. This is a hands-on role with expectations to lead by example and contribute code as well as guide and mentor your team. Key Responsibilities: * Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management. * Collaborate with product managers and designers to understand and define product requirements and technical specifications. * Contribute to the technical direction and architecture of the Cadmus platform. * Oversee the development, testing, and deployment of software features and enhancements. * Ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability through code reviews, best practices, and automated testing. * Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and development to testing and deployment. * Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software engineering. * Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment. Skills and Experience: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field. * Proven experience as a Software Engineering Manager, with a minimum of 5 years of experience leading and managing software engineering teams. * Strong technical background with experience in software development, architecture, and design. * Experience with Agile development methodologies and practices. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. * Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). * Experience with software testing and quality assurance. * Experience with DevOps practices and tools. * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. * Experience in the EdTech industry is a plus.
