Software Engineer, Office of AI Enhanced Medical Education [LKCMedicine]

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) trains doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care. The School, which offers both undergraduate and graduate programmes, is named after local philanthropist Tan Sri Dato Lee Kong Chian. Established in 2010 by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in partnership with Imperial College London, LKCMedicine aims to be a model for innovative medical education and a centre for transformative research. The School’s primary challenge lies in developing AI-enhanced educational tools that can effectively engage students and enhance their learning experience. As part of this effort, we are seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Office of AI Enhanced Medical Education to design, develop, test, and deploy innovative AI-powered educational solutions for medical education. Key responsibilities include: • Designing and developing AI-powered educational tools using various programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch); • Collaborating with the Office of AI Enhanced Medical Education to identify and prioritize project requirements; • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive documentation of all software development processes and outcomes; • Participating in code reviews and ensuring that all developed code meets high standards of quality, security, and maintainability; • Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in AI-powered educational technologies and applying this knowledge to continuously improve our solutions. The ideal candidate should possess: • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; • At least 2 years of experience in software development, preferably in the education sector; • Strong programming skills in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java); • Experience with AI-powered educational tools and technologies; • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
