The Software Engineer positions are responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable software solutions that support organisational operations, client requirements, and long-term growth strategies. Successful candidates will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of software applications and systems, ensuring they are compliant with applicable industry standards, optimised for performance, and aligned with business objectives.

Depending on experience and project requirements, the positions may involve working across different areas of software development, including application development, system integration, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, API development, system maintenance, and technical support. The Software Engineers will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality technology solutions and contribute to continuous improvement and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test secure, scalable, and efficient software applications in line with organisational requirements.
• Analyse user needs and translate them into technical specifications, ensuring solutions are practical and compliant with industry standards.
• Maintain and improve existing systems, identifying bugs, performance issues, and opportunities for optimisation.
• Implement cybersecurity measures and ensure all software complies with Australian regulatory requirements and data protection standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (designers, product managers, and business analysts) to deliver integrated solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals to support compliance and audit readiness.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce best‑practice development standards to maintain quality and consistency.
• Integrate software with third‑party platforms and APIs, ensuring seamless interoperability and system reliability.
• Monitor emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance workforce capability and operational efficiency.
• Provide technical support and training to end‑users and junior developers, fostering knowledge transfer and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and skills

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., Master’s in Software Engineering or IT) are highly regarded but not mandatory.

Technical Certifications (Preferred)

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate / Solutions Architect.
• AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent cloud‑native certification.
• Agile/Scrum certification for project delivery frameworks.
