Job description
Liferaft is looking for a highly skilled and visionary Software Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced OSINT tools that empower organizations to extract valuable insights from open-source data. This role will be hybrid in Halifax, NS, or fully remote within Canada. Reporting to the Senior Director, Engineering, you will play a crucial role in building and enhancing our OSINT platform, working on scalable, high-performance applications that handle large-scale data collection and analysis. **What You’ll Do** * Design, develop, and maintain software components of our OSINT platform. * Write clean, well-documented, and testable code. * Collaborate with other engineers and product managers to define, design, and ship new features. * Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing. * Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and issues. * Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes. * Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in software development and OSINT. **What You Bring** * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. * 3+ years of experience in software development. * Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java). * Experience with database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch). * Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). * Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). * Solid understanding of software design principles and best practices. * Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Experience with OSINT tools and methodologies is a plus. * Experience with data scraping and web crawling is a plus. **Bonus Points** * Experience with DevOps practices. * Experience with CI/CD pipelines. * Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. * Contributions to open-source projects. **Why Liferaft?** Liferaft is a dynamic and innovative company that is revolutionizing the way organizations approach security intelligence.
